Kings Active Development is our unique training portal with core information about our programmes, polices and your role and responsibilities.
ALL members of staff need to complete their Safeguarding (SFG), Looking After Children (LAC) and role-specific courses. For example, if you are a multi-sports coach, you will need to complete a SFG, LAC and MSC courses only. It is essential that these courses are completed before your induction day.
Your ‘Looking After Children’ and ‘Safeguarding’ certificates will need to be shown to your Camp Manager. Please download these certificates and save them onto your phone.
- – To bring your training to life, we’re delivering sessions that will enable you to interact with us, ask questions and give you some top tips for your delivery on camp.
- – All MANAGERS and NEW Red Tops will need to attend one of these sessions and be prepared to have your cameras on and be conversation ready.
- – We offer multiple sessions at varied times and days. Please ensure you select a training session PRIOR to your contract start date, via LearnUpon.
- – If you have any questions, please contact operations@kingsactive.org for further information.

All staff (new and returning) must attend their camps Induction Day. It is typically the weekend before Camp (please check your exact date and time below) and will last no longer than four hours.
This is a paid training day that forms part of your employment contract, and failure to attend may result in your contract being terminated.
On the day, you will meet your team, take a tour of the venue you’re working at, prepare the equipment for camp, risk assess the site and run through how the first morning will look. In doing so, our staff are more prepared and are ready for when the children arrive.
What you need to complete and bring with you:
- – You will need to complete all of your relevant Online Learning modules and download the ‘Safeguarding on Camp’ and ‘Looking After Children’ certificates to show your Site Manager.
- – Look out for your email from YOTI to complete your Right to Work check before your Induction Day (if you require an alternative check, the Onboarding Team will contact you).
- – You must bring your passport as proof of eligibility to work in the UK to show your Manager. Please note that driving licences are not accepted. If you do not have your passport, please contact the Onboarding Team. If you have also been asked to bring a photocopy of your document, please ensure you have this with you.

We want our staff to be the best they can be, and in 2025 we’re committed to giving all of our Red Tops the opportunity to level up and gain a qualification in Paediatric First Aid – a qualification and life-skill that you can use outside of camp.
Delivered by external partners, Tigerlilly Training, we’re committed to part-funding courses for staff members, with course locations across England and Wales throughout the year – for Scotland based staff, we host training days on pre-arranged dates.
