It was a great pleasure recently to experience the work of The King’s Foundation charity, based at the Dumfries House estate in Ayrshire, Scotland.
We were struck by the sheer range of education and training programmes the charity provides for individuals and groups of all ages and backgrounds. We toured their traditional arts and heritage workshops, STEM, horticulture, agriculture, outdoor education, wellbeing and hospitality centres and had the pleasure of meeting the talented individuals who run them.
In everything we saw and everyone we met; the passion, energy and focus from The King’s Foundation team and the benefit that they deliver was clear to see – not only to their local community but the UK and Internationally.
Our CEO, Andrew Busby reflected on the visit;
“Training, inspiration, empowerment and community are at the heart of our work with children, young people and families because they are qualities understood and exhibited by the talented and committed people who operate our programmes. It was wonderful to meet a charity who, although using different tools for development and positive change – align so well with our own core values and beliefs.”
